Abducted Palestinians are enduring unimaginable horrors in Israel’s torture chambers. Among them is Dr. Hassam Abu Safiya, a pediatrician and hospital director in Gaza who has been held hostage for 18 months. He was last heard pleading for his life, barely able to speak, covered in fresh bruises. The lawyer of Dr. Hassam Abu Safiya said his client has been severely abused while in captivity and is currently in critical condition. His report makes it clear that Dr. Hassam Abu Safiya will likely soon die in captivity, like many other innocent Palestinian abductees before him. As global pressure builds for his release, we must demand that Josh Riley act now to influence foreign policy and secure his release.

On May 22nd, 2026, Ithaca’s Katie Church, a long-time activist for Palestine liberation, helped to block the Zim (Israeli) and Maersk (German) shipping terminal lanes at the Port of Elizabeth, NJ., a direct action bockade which lasted four hours.
ZIM, an Israeli-run company, supports the genocidal states’ actions in Palestine. ZIM contracts with the Australian conglomerate Macquarie Asset Management, which leases Maher Terminal from Port Authority. The blockade directly targeted these actors, creating a miles-long backup of trucks. 91% of the weapons shipped out of the US that aren’t shipped through military bases are shipped from these terminals — weapons and supplies for the Israeli war machine.

For the third year in a row, activists with Interfaith Action for Palestine (IAP) directly challenged the largest Christian Zionist organization in the country, Christians United for Israel (CUFI), in its signature massive gathering in Washington to lobby Congress to support Israel in its Gaza genocide and military assaults around the Middle East.
Activists representing Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists and other faiths gathered in D.C. for training prior to CUFI’s June 7 ‘Lobby Day’ on Capital Hill. Journalist Steve France has written an account of the new tactics of IAP that took CUFI organizers by surprise.

In May, the UK’s largest public pension fund relented to pressure from campaigners to sell Israeli government bonds worth approximately $29.2 million. “We were horrified to discover that our retirement funds are financing genocide, apartheid, occupation, imprisonment, and torture,” one of the protest leaders told Middle East Eye.
…from The divestment drive that could shake Israel’s economic foundations. To fund perpetual war, Israel has grown ever more reliant on issuing bonds. Relinquishing these holdings, often invested passively, disrupts that equation. Pension funds in the U.S. are divesting.
